I just found that if you are using Jaiku through your IM client, then you can comment on someone else's note by starting with @username. So, there ya go :-)

I'm not sure. I don't spend that much time on Jaiku because everyone is on Twitter :-). My first instinct is to say that there isn't one because you can comment directly on the note. For instance, I got your previous message AND the two comments on it in my Jaiku feed even though I don't have the commenter as a contact. So I think that eliminates the need for @username.

I actually like Jaiku a little better. It is easier for me to add my RSS feeds so that my contacts can see when my blogs have been updated. I also prefer the way you can comment directly on someone else's note. Unfortunately, people haven't flocked to this the way they have to Pownce and Twitter. Kinda like Betamax -- it's only as good as the audience you can build for it.
